Hawzah News Agency (Najaf, Iraq) – In a meeting with Saudi Shias on Wednesday, Grand Ayatollah al-Najafi highlighted the importance of visiting Ahlulbayt’s (as) shrines saying, “pilgrimage to Ahlulbayt’s (as) shrines helps mankind purify his soul and strengthen his piety; one of the signs that your pilgrimage and Ziyarat is accepted in the eyes of Allah almighty is that following their Ziyarat pilgrims correct their past mistakes. I really hope that pilgrimage to Ahlulbayt’s shrines provides an opportunity for us to seek proximity to almighty Allah.”

In a separate meeting with a group of seminary students from Iraqi Wasit Governorate, the senior Shia cleric remarked, “The happiness of parents plays a key role in people’s lives, since the happiness of one’s parents paves the way to make Allah almighty happy. Moreover, our holy infallibles (as) have advised Muslims to treat their parents nicely and with respect.”

“Seminary students must always try to purify their own souls; before they try to promote Islamic teachings and guide people towards Islam, they must act according to Islam first in order to serve Prophet Muhammad’s (sawa) Ummah and preach Islam worldwide,” Grand Ayatollah al-Najafi concluded.
